It is a battle to remain optimistic but My family and friends, Crafting and the prescription drugs do help!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12312114479061779334noreply@blogger.comBlogger63125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-299040080878009244.post-66089985129460179152018-02-26T07:52:00.000+00:002018-02-26T13:00:29.729+00:00Happy Little Stamping againIt's been forever and a day since I posted on my poor lonely blog... insomnia last night and a lil email reminder and <span id="goog_2028212036"></span><a href="http://www.happylittlestampers.com/2018/02/hls-february-cas-challenge.html?m=1" target="_blank">happy lil stamper<span id="goog_2028212037"></span> again ;)</a><br />
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I'm entering their feb CAS challenge which must include a heart. Thanks happy lil stampers for tempting me back<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BFpF24o0N_A/WpO4DoWfKXI/AAAAAAAABjI/UVVI5Up7dKcD0Up2I49OEu8usmItUYOXwCLcBGAs/s1600/20180226_070257.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BFpF24o0N_A/WpO4DoWfKXI/AAAAAAAABjI/UVVI5Up7dKcD0Up2I49OEu8usmItUYOXwCLcBGAs/s640/20180226_070257.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
A rusty but sparkly, patched but whole heart is my design idea... and the lil heart that's missing is all gold after lots of heat embossing but hiding inside with my smooshy words for my fella ;)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0gCA9n-JQ10/WpO3gkvdAOI/AAAAAAAABjA/Ww5hu3ecg70xRIiTV5V_QhmtsLtK1KtlQCLcBGAs/s1600/20180226_072638.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0gCA9n-JQ10/WpO3gkvdAOI/AAAAAAAABjA/Ww5hu3ecg70xRIiTV5V_QhmtsLtK1KtlQCLcBGAs/s320/20180226_072638.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The fibro was winning for a while, even taking a job I loved from me. Well tbh it was the fibro getting together with a few mean and ignorant colleagues and one managers inability to stand up for a disabled member of staff or read policy. I fought for a long time to keep my job...there were some wonderful women too<br />
I tried to keep at bay the depression and anxiety caused by trying to work with fibro...and I lost. This paragraph sounds bitter I've nearly deleted it...but I'm not bitter now, just frustrated that the people living with fibro are thought to be weak...even malingering...when we are so strong to keep getting up and going...even if on the worst of days that get up and going takes all our spoons for a wash, change of PJs ;)<br />
I decided to leave the paragraph in because I know I'm not the only one getting down with a chronic illness...I think it's ok for us to have a lil moan ;) and if you need one yourself let's chat :)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Moving along... before i bottle it and keep my poor blog bottled up again.....as is often the way even while life is taking...It's giving too. I have wonderfully supportive family and friends...all you talented crafty folks to keep inspiring me and filling my eyes n soul with colour,hope your own strength and inky sparkly joy. And a truly supportive fella for who accepts me and my slightly broken self, makes me laugh everyday and reminds me to love even the thorns...brcause the roses beauty is worth them.<br />
<br />
<br />
Take care</div>

Well this got my creative juices aflowing and off I went around the house grabbing all sorts of bits n bobs... and covering them in all sorts of ink and paints. I have a cool.stash of backgrounds now awaiting their day to become a card but this one is my favourite.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qZDohV0MnP8/Vbem149pTbI/AAAAAAAABBQ/NGVjzNbGydg/s1600/IMG_20150727_174431_hdr_kindlephoto-69036113.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="361" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qZDohV0MnP8/Vbem149pTbI/AAAAAAAABBQ/NGVjzNbGydg/s400/IMG_20150727_174431_hdr_kindlephoto-69036113.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I used a medicine popper, storage thimngumy to created these circles.<br />
<br />
I applied distress paint in fired brick, then seedless preserves and then I misted with water... love this look, messy and not regimented but more so then I would.get doing this freehand.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1xDHbHMsA6Q/VbenhhrgjII/AAAAAAAABBY/c_lrunkHp7s/s1600/IMG_20150727_174732_hdr.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="181" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1xDHbHMsA6Q/VbenhhrgjII/AAAAAAAABBY/c_lrunkHp7s/s320/IMG_20150727_174732_hdr.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I then stamped the awesome New stampotique cake stamp, masked it and stamped the bottom cake so.it looks like they're stacked. I paper pieced with graphic 45 papers and added some cosmic shimmer glue dots for sprinkles and wink of stella to the candles<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gNHji4avKjY/VbeoXBy1jII/AAAAAAAABBg/Dxx0b-m0LU0/s1600/IMG_20150727_174743_hdr_kindlephoto-68981698.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gNHji4avKjY/VbeoXBy1jII/AAAAAAAABBg/Dxx0b-m0LU0/s400/IMG_20150727_174743_hdr_kindlephoto-68981698.jpg" width="286" /></a></div>
<br />
Lastly I die cut "with love" from my background, cut another 4 from coredinations card and stacked them together and applied lashings of wink of stella<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jtXZguh8Eqk/Vbeoz6YWupI/AAAAAAAABBo/XG20OI_c0cs/s1600/IMG_20150727_174753_hdr.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="181" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jtXZguh8Eqk/Vbeoz6YWupI/AAAAAAAABBo/XG20OI_c0cs/s320/IMG_20150727_174753_hdr.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I mounted it onto kraft card that I inked a stripey pattern onto and all done :)<br />
<br />
I loved this challenge, pop on over and have a look at the cool ideas the DT came up with by clicking <a href="http://stampotiquedesignerschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2015/07/sdc205-stamped-background-using.html" target="_blank">here</a><br />

<br />
A gorgeous mood board is the inspiration<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-BIl-0qEBMQg/VbZ2Xi6mcmI/AAAAAAAABAU/AfFcAjk4230/s1600/birthdaymoodboard.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-BIl-0qEBMQg/VbZ2Xi6mcmI/AAAAAAAABAU/AfFcAjk4230/s320/birthdaymoodboard.jpg" width="296" /></a></div>
Pop over to the birthday girls <a href="http://damselofdistressedcards.blogspot.co.uk/2015/07/a-flowery-set-of-cards-prizes.html" target="_blank">blog</a> for a more detailed explanation and to link up your makes.<br />
<br />
This time I have used Beccas colours, dots, the sentiment and some inspiration from the girl herself and her strength.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BMgxIa7kbGQ/VbZ3MlFZ_VI/AAAAAAAABAc/_4rmJpfTb0E/s1600/IMG_20150727_174308_hdr_kindlephoto-69093379.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="372" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BMgxIa7kbGQ/VbZ3MlFZ_VI/AAAAAAAABAc/_4rmJpfTb0E/s400/IMG_20150727_174308_hdr_kindlephoto-69093379.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
The stencil is from <a href="http://www.stencilgirltalk.com/" target="_blank">stencil girls</a>. I will definitely be investing in more of these in the futures. The stencils are so easy to work with and the designs are truly unique.<br />
<br />
This stencil just grabbed my heart as soon as I saw it. To create this look I blended with distress inks and then, keeping the stencil.in place misted with water.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PlYtiCLjiew/VbaG8BMZbZI/AAAAAAAABAs/8LKbeENgnnk/s1600/IMG_20150727_174322_hdr_kindlephoto-69179610.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="260" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PlYtiCLjiew/VbaG8BMZbZI/AAAAAAAABAs/8LKbeENgnnk/s320/IMG_20150727_174322_hdr_kindlephoto-69179610.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I did this a few times to build up the depth. It's.not often I have an idea and it works as I pictured it but this one just came together. I used some glossy accents for the tears and did a little journaling. A little bit of this and that and voila<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dIzorEzUQDY/VbaHoWZ0mCI/AAAAAAAABA0/koN1aGWTnRk/s1600/IMG_20150727_174351_hdr_kindlephoto-69251110.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="107" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dIzorEzUQDY/VbaHoWZ0mCI/AAAAAAAABA0/koN1aGWTnRk/s320/IMG_20150727_174351_hdr_kindlephoto-69251110.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>

Mecca is on the DT team with me over at <a href="http://eclecticellapu.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Eclectic Ellapu</a> and her alter ego is the <a href="http://damselofdistressedcards.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Damsel of distressed cards</a>. Becca is so nice she is not spending her birthday thinking of the crafty goodies she wants for pressies but rather sharing her stash with a fab giveaway!!!!<br />
<br />
Becca created this beautiful mood board to inspire us all<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-E1otFV9f4u4/VauV-xFVE8I/AAAAAAAAA_U/c9A82dqlKmI/s1600/birthdaymoodboard.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-E1otFV9f4u4/VauV-xFVE8I/AAAAAAAAA_U/c9A82dqlKmI/s320/birthdaymoodboard.jpg" width="296" /></a></div>
<br />
So much loveliness here, for this card I have been inspired by that gorgeous cushion, smooshing and who doesn't love a pun!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oCN5YloS4V8/VauWdDjJYdI/AAAAAAAAA_c/H5q8H2ir8vI/s1600/IMG_20150719_124633_hdr_kindlephoto-131804897.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="301" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oCN5YloS4V8/VauWdDjJYdI/AAAAAAAAA_c/H5q8H2ir8vI/s320/IMG_20150719_124633_hdr_kindlephoto-131804897.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I squished and smooshed and flicked and generally had a good ole play with my inks to create the background and dragonfly. I used texture paste and embossing powder to create the clock.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UXFKvRKwRSw/VauWgoLviRI/AAAAAAAAA_k/tnqlBuAZw_k/s1600/IMG_20150719_124750_hdr_kindlephoto-131585875.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="183" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UXFKvRKwRSw/VauWgoLviRI/AAAAAAAAA_k/tnqlBuAZw_k/s320/IMG_20150719_124750_hdr_kindlephoto-131585875.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Lots of layering and distressing here too as Becca loves a vintagey distressed look.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6Akqa66LCgU/VauXTWShDxI/AAAAAAAAA_s/52Eg7FAtfSs/s1600/IMG_20150719_124732_hdr_kindlephoto-131619229.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="232" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6Akqa66LCgU/VauXTWShDxI/AAAAAAAAA_s/52Eg7FAtfSs/s320/IMG_20150719_124732_hdr_kindlephoto-131619229.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Some hat pins coloured to match.<br />
I flicked some embossing powder around on the background too.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rIjTNuhWPVQ/VauXYxXLNZI/AAAAAAAAA_0/QjfuikzikZc/s1600/IMG_20150719_124706_hdr.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="181" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rIjTNuhWPVQ/VauXYxXLNZI/AAAAAAAAA_0/QjfuikzikZc/s320/IMG_20150719_124706_hdr.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
And smooshing some cream ribbon in distress ink.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-h4MzGhkScOc/VauYfTZvXtI/AAAAAAAABAA/ynLdJzi_Tgs/s1600/IMG_20150719_124650_hdr_kindlephoto-131678967.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="203" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-h4MzGhkScOc/VauYfTZvXtI/AAAAAAAABAA/ynLdJzi_Tgs/s320/IMG_20150719_124650_hdr_kindlephoto-131678967.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
And finally my sentiments, from graphic 45 other than my attempt at a pun, every birthday for me seems to get here quicker and quicker, am not always convinced it cause of all the fun I'm having lol. I really enjoyed making this card.<br />
<br />
Happy Birthday Becca x<br />
<br />
I'm also sharing this over at <a href="http://frillyandfunkie.blogspot.co.uk/2015/07/raise-it-up.html" target="_blank">Frilly and Funkie</a> where their challenge is to raise it up<br />
The lovely Laurie who is asking for lots of layers as she is <a href="http://www.hidinginmycraftroom.com/2015/07/himcr-208-lol-lots-of-layers.html" target="_blank">Hiding in her craft room</a><br />

<br />
Take care y'allAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12312114479061779334noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-299040080878009244.post-3082770643004666692015-07-01T00:00:00.000+01:002015-07-01T00:00:01.033+01:00Travel with Eclectic EllapuJuly already and the theme for us pink ladies is travel. I chose to interpret this by making a travel folder to take on my hols with me, I'm really looking forward to getting away with my family, all 20 of them!!!! My aunt and cousins and their kids, myself, mum, dad and my two youngest are all sharing a villa and I can't wait. I want to make a scrappy journal when I come back so my folder will be perfect for keeping my notes, sketches and pics in during the holiday and after while I assemble it..... I hope ;)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-it_QCW-ahBA/VZKyVPnhcBI/AAAAAAAAA-I/Fp0zgaZTWuw/s1600/IMG_20150401_140613_hdr_kindlephoto-31011879.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-it_QCW-ahBA/VZKyVPnhcBI/AAAAAAAAA-I/Fp0zgaZTWuw/s320/IMG_20150401_140613_hdr_kindlephoto-31011879.jpg" width="273" /></a></div>
I started with a Tim Holtz large collection folio<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GbF1NVMn_Us/VZKyYPEr5-I/AAAAAAAAA-Q/1PkT0_qS1DA/s1600/IMG_20150401_141021_hdr.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="181" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GbF1NVMn_Us/VZKyYPEr5-I/AAAAAAAAA-Q/1PkT0_qS1DA/s320/IMG_20150401_141021_hdr.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
And then I went to town with stencils and paint and inks. I love t g at zip die by paper smooches. I also used some rub ons.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dobpXIjzyFg/VZKyZlW7ETI/AAAAAAAAA-Y/QNYjeTmCooI/s1600/IMG_20150401_140953_hdr.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="181" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dobpXIjzyFg/VZKyZlW7ETI/AAAAAAAAA-Y/QNYjeTmCooI/s320/IMG_20150401_140953_hdr.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I used lots of graphic 45 bohemian collection papers and the Tim holtz rosette die<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YswcFbv6NmQ/VZKydmo-pTI/AAAAAAAAA-o/LPkRYhqw-fs/s1600/IMG_20150401_140912_hdr.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YswcFbv6NmQ/VZKydmo-pTI/AAAAAAAAA-o/LPkRYhqw-fs/s320/IMG_20150401_140912_hdr.jpg" width="181" /></a></div>
Sorry for the photo overload but these collection folio's just have so much room in them.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6XrLisYgPz0/VZKyfm2xJwI/AAAAAAAAA-g/X6dmklYoQTU/s1600/IMG_20150401_140840_hdr.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6XrLisYgPz0/VZKyfm2xJwI/AAAAAAAAA-g/X6dmklYoQTU/s320/IMG_20150401_140840_hdr.jpg" width="181" /></a></div>

<br />
The challenge over at Eclectic ellapu with us pink ladies is "anything goes" or if your into steampunk you'll find yourself amongst maties with the purple team.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-j8CGiedaU0c/VWtk_jkXKvI/AAAAAAAAA9U/-96b090UHro/s1600/IMG_20150531_202323_hdr_kindlephoto-38085064.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="291" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-j8CGiedaU0c/VWtk_jkXKvI/AAAAAAAAA9U/-96b090UHro/s320/IMG_20150531_202323_hdr_kindlephoto-38085064.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
I've been playing along with the masquerade online card classes again and have used masking fluid by pebeo to start my background. This stuff really holds up well to water, I put loads on and squished and smooshed and flicked distress inks around and then splattered and flung more water about and then more inks and... Oh I did have a lotto fun. A long time later when it was thoroughly dry the masking fluid rubbed off so easily.<br />
<br />
A bit of stamping, and paper piecing with my beloved G45 papers<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rAezk2DosE0/VWtmcidPIfI/AAAAAAAAA9s/P47MhAomSeM/s1600/IMG_20150531_202347_hdr_kindlephoto-37999137.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rAezk2DosE0/VWtmcidPIfI/AAAAAAAAA9s/P47MhAomSeM/s320/IMG_20150531_202347_hdr_kindlephoto-37999137.jpg" width="305" /></a></div>
<br />
I was so chuffed with the lush white thought bubble that appeared under all that messing about with inks when the masking fluid was removed.<br />
<br />

graphic 45 and their raining cats and dogs collection to the rescue :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-c8cLfDldBzU/VVjT7Hu3GvI/AAAAAAAAA8c/9g6FyFOCqG4/s1600/IMG_20150517_132130_hdr_kindlephoto-4476921.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="398" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-c8cLfDldBzU/VVjT7Hu3GvI/AAAAAAAAA8c/9g6FyFOCqG4/s400/IMG_20150517_132130_hdr_kindlephoto-4476921.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I used two stickers from the 12x12 sticker sheet and some of the borders. I stuck them to some kraft card before fussy cutting them out and popping them atop my two fav Daniel Torrent stamps.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LA5xcr9irCo/VVjU1DfOdtI/AAAAAAAAA8k/fZbzbF4wMLU/s1600/IMG_20150517_132108_hdr.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="226" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LA5xcr9irCo/VVjU1DfOdtI/AAAAAAAAA8k/fZbzbF4wMLU/s400/IMG_20150517_132108_hdr.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Don't tell the cat but this little fella is my favourite ;)<br />
<br />
I'm loving the <a href="http://stampotiquedesignerschallenge.blogspot.ie/2015/05/sdc195-human-with-animal-head.html" target="_blank">stampotique</a> challenges, they really inspire me to.get my thinking cap, or in this case animal head on.<br />

This weeks <a href="http://stampotiquedesignerschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/sdc193-polka-dots.html" target="_blank">stampotique challenge</a> is polka dots and I saw the lovely <a href="http://damselofdistressedcards.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/stripes-andor-polka-dots-crafty-gals.html" target="_blank">Becca's</a> DT piece for the <a href="http://craftygalscornerchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/challenge-17-stripes-andor-polka-dots.html" target="_blank">Craft Girls</a> challenge which is spots and or stripes so it seemed rude not to have a play ;)<br />

I used a Sheena stencil from her new collection, she has some really awesome talent. A stampotique stamp... I am so NOT over my love of these! A Maya road chippie tree and paper from graphic 45 bohemian pad<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The sentiment is a new stamplorations design, you must pop over for a look, their new collection is so usable, this is from the <a href="http://stamplorations.auctivacommerce.com/New-Release-C355502.aspx?sid=38054" target="_blank">fond expressions</a> set.<br />
<br />
I am sharing this with the stampotique and crafty girls challenges.<br />

The were so many awesome entries for last month, it was great to see so many of you taking a step outside you comfort zone and still coming up with the goods.<br />
<br />
For me this month's challenge is also something I have never tried before, tussie mussie making. A tussie mussie is a cone shaped holder for small posies or gifts, popular in Victorian time and often worn as a kind of broach... albeit a rather large one ;)<br />
<br />
I decided to cover mine in flowers and pop choccies inside.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PjWhd86OeXs/VUN0O_cuugI/AAAAAAAAA68/Hv_jdWgHWhE/s1600/IMG_20150430_195114_hdr.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PjWhd86OeXs/VUN0O_cuugI/AAAAAAAAA68/Hv_jdWgHWhE/s1600/IMG_20150430_195114_hdr.jpg" height="640" width="362" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2kswwGmYXs8/VUN0UQivCZI/AAAAAAAAA7M/VMDW9gxyIMs/s1600/IMG_20150430_195153_hdr_kindlephoto-76602413.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2kswwGmYXs8/VUN0UQivCZI/AAAAAAAAA7M/VMDW9gxyIMs/s1600/IMG_20150430_195153_hdr_kindlephoto-76602413.jpg" height="400" width="272" /></a></div>
<br />
Where are the choccies you say.... they were very yummy!!<br />
<br />
I used Tim Holtz tattered acorn die, an old rolled rose die and just did that thingy where you cut out a circle, then cut a spiral around and roll it up to make my flowers.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YsibR1wDwuI/VUN1B7HGhvI/AAAAAAAAA7U/zHpSGXYICA0/s1600/IMG_20150430_195129_hdr_kindlephoto-76646596.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YsibR1wDwuI/VUN1B7HGhvI/AAAAAAAAA7U/zHpSGXYICA0/s1600/IMG_20150430_195129_hdr_kindlephoto-76646596.jpg" height="320" width="220" /></a></div>
<br />
I may have gotten a little carried away with the flowers but they were so much bloomin fun to make and I couldn't bring myself to leave any out.<br />
<br />
I used my butterfly palm punch, some pearls and got creative with some wire to make the handle, leaves and some more flowers.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tOutpIKOelw/VUN22-spcdI/AAAAAAAAA7g/QZBuCHWwrSw/s1600/IMG_20150430_195208_hdr_kindlephoto-76565834.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tOutpIKOelw/VUN22-spcdI/AAAAAAAAA7g/QZBuCHWwrSw/s1600/IMG_20150430_195208_hdr_kindlephoto-76565834.jpg" height="640" width="504" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wr_BVAb4b4I/VUN27i2s8RI/AAAAAAAAA7o/DNJa75HJL7I/s1600/IMG_20150430_195114_hdr.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wr_BVAb4b4I/VUN27i2s8RI/AAAAAAAAA7o/DNJa75HJL7I/s1600/IMG_20150430_195114_hdr.jpg" height="640" width="361" /></a></div>
<br />
I'll be honest and admit I groaned a little when I saw the challenge theme, I had no idea what a tussie mussie was. I can totally admit to also having had a blast making it. The girls over at <a href="http://eclecticellapu.blogspot.ie/" target="_blank">Eclecticellapu</a> have made some gorgeous pieces so do pop over for a look, even better if you join in the fun.<span id="goog_987919714"></span><br />

I used distress inks and a white and black gelly pen with a waterbrush. I am really quite chuffed with how this turned out and look forward to playing with them lots more.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nn9blDeZON4/VT0CaMtHiOI/AAAAAAAAA50/NAn5h6aWDCg/s1600/IMG_20150426_140259_hdr_kindlephoto-37121455.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nn9blDeZON4/VT0CaMtHiOI/AAAAAAAAA50/NAn5h6aWDCg/s1600/IMG_20150426_140259_hdr_kindlephoto-37121455.jpg" height="606" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Are used Neenah desert storm card to stamp on and unicorn white heroarts ink. Well to be honest I stamped loads of this cute girl in a variety of colours and inks. Are you distress inks in spiced marmalade and tumbled Glass and weathered wood. At first I thought I'd made a huge mistake as I come round the edges with the black pen and it was all smudgy but I persevered and kept playing around and love the way she turned out . When I fussy cut her I deliberately did a bit Jaggi as I think this suits the style of the stamp.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KBiPvSViyPU/VT0CdCZ90mI/AAAAAAAAA6A/JvAq-tGndFE/s1600/IMG_20150426_140245_hdr_kindlephoto-37197496.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KBiPvSViyPU/VT0CdCZ90mI/AAAAAAAAA6A/JvAq-tGndFE/s1600/IMG_20150426_140245_hdr_kindlephoto-37197496.jpg" height="181" width="320" /></a></div>
I made the background using shattered coredinations card and a crafters companion embossing folder. I love embossing this card and then sanding it back to reveal a really cool grungy look. I used paper smooches thanks Die and cut it out of the desert storm card, white and the coredinations . I offset them slightly then used a bit of wink of Stella and glossy accents.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AaYB_B1gEYg/VT0CdKGC0TI/AAAAAAAAA58/mJdIGpqOR0M/s1600/IMG_20150426_140228_hdr_kindlephoto-37242122.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AaYB_B1gEYg/VT0CdKGC0TI/AAAAAAAAA58/mJdIGpqOR0M/s1600/IMG_20150426_140228_hdr_kindlephoto-37242122.jpg" height="512" width="640" /></a></div>
Hi Cut out a few of the circles using the blue side rather than the black, added a bit more wink of Stella and glossy accents. the little sentiment I made on my computer .<br />
<br />
I make this card for the stampotique <a href="http://stampotiquedesignerschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/sdc191-circles.html" target="_blank">circles challenge</a><br />
<br />
thanks for having a look, the stampotique challenges run until 5th of May so pop over and have a play<br />
<br />
take care<br />

<br />
I've been Loving the Stampotique creations that I've been seeing hopping around. To me there is an eclectic mix of bright colours, fun and a little bit of grunge in the projects I have been admiring... reet up my street. I have been really inspired by the wonderful owner of the <a href="http://thekathrynwheel.blogspot.co.uk/p/about-me.html" target="_blank">Kathrywheel blog</a>, her journal soup classes are just Awesome. I hadn't yet had a try so I treated myself to 2 new stamps and I have just been loving playing with them . I was further inspired by one of the challenges at the <a href="http://stampotiquedesignerschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Stampotique blog</a>, <a href="http://stampotiquedesignerschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/sdc190-stitches.html" target="_blank">use stitching</a>, way way outside my comfort zone.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5gyz3yYtA_E/VTfHfPBHVmI/AAAAAAAAA4s/q3EeKwNVDGU/s1600/IMG_20150422_165319_hdr_kindlephoto-60117818.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5gyz3yYtA_E/VTfHfPBHVmI/AAAAAAAAA4s/q3EeKwNVDGU/s1600/IMG_20150422_165319_hdr_kindlephoto-60117818.jpg" height="620" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I am so super chuffed with how this turned out :) My eldest daughter is taking her GCSEs and I am consumed with thinking of her and her friends and what difficult time of life this is for them. I love how this card is still fun and girly but not too cute and young for a teenager, I think the stamps really help with this.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-k4SW1Ykm3QA/VTfIXDuFwhI/AAAAAAAAA40/m-oPP7uV3tM/s1600/IMG_20150422_165331_hdr.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-k4SW1Ykm3QA/VTfIXDuFwhI/AAAAAAAAA40/m-oPP7uV3tM/s1600/IMG_20150422_165331_hdr.jpg" height="226" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I had no idea what I was doing when I started making these flowers. I just twiddled the string around caught it upwith the needle and fastened them off . They really add cool dimension and texture. it's something I will definitely be having a go at again .<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pyh71GEwDKs/VTfKFOO5kNI/AAAAAAAAA5A/lokN5qxodNk/s1600/IMG_20150422_165343_hdr.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pyh71GEwDKs/VTfKFOO5kNI/AAAAAAAAA5A/lokN5qxodNk/s1600/IMG_20150422_165343_hdr.jpg" height="226" width="400" /></a></div>
Something else that is completely outside of my comfort zone are shaker cards. The sun is a mini shaker that I made using the packaging from Tim Holtz ideology Buttom package . I then used my thread needle again and added little rays for the sun .<br />
<br />
I completed the card by using a faux stitch die down the side , and a hugs and kisses die.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-F5tqVahM-MU/VTfK79vXtyI/AAAAAAAAA5I/ajHeFALRmW8/s1600/IMG_20150422_165417_hdr_kindlephoto-60047837.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-F5tqVahM-MU/VTfK79vXtyI/AAAAAAAAA5I/ajHeFALRmW8/s1600/IMG_20150422_165417_hdr_kindlephoto-60047837.jpg" height="290" width="320" /></a></div>
I popped the cutout part of the hugs and kisses die through the holes so you could also see them from the inside. I stand out we believe in you sentiment with the new lemon citrus ranger ink and voila.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5gyz3yYtA_E/VTfHfPBHVmI/AAAAAAAAA4s/q3EeKwNVDGU/s1600/IMG_20150422_165319_hdr_kindlephoto-60117818.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5gyz3yYtA_E/VTfHfPBHVmI/AAAAAAAAA4s/q3EeKwNVDGU/s1600/IMG_20150422_165319_hdr_kindlephoto-60117818.jpg" height="310" width="320" /></a></div>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RQ5VGF8JpCs/VRRgZFsXzCI/AAAAAAAAA3g/94RoSfsVIGY/s1600/IMG_20150326_153900_hdr_kindlephoto-80582422.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RQ5VGF8JpCs/VRRgZFsXzCI/AAAAAAAAA3g/94RoSfsVIGY/s1600/IMG_20150326_153900_hdr_kindlephoto-80582422.jpg" height="253" width="320" /></a></div>

<br />
<br />
DAY 7 was alphabet dies but I got frustrated with my twitchy fingers and those fiddly little dies so am saving that along with many other ideas for other days. These classes are such great value for money and with a lifetime of being able to look back what's not to love.<br />

Everthing for just over a month now. I've been struggling to make sure I do for my kids and work which hasn't left me much me to craft with ;) Dr has signed me off for a week as I realised I was pushing myself towards much bigger flare if I didnt pay attention to the warning signs. I'm not gonna waffle on About this anymore on this post but I am gonna shAre some research and tips soon.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pEYZuOX6ONo/VRH0kprVpOI/AAAAAAAAA1s/4nwtZv57srE/s1600/IMG_20150324_214802_hdr_kindlephoto-3301896.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pEYZuOX6ONo/VRH0kprVpOI/AAAAAAAAA1s/4nwtZv57srE/s1600/IMG_20150324_214802_hdr_kindlephoto-3301896.jpg" height="381" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I am popping on as I have made a card using a fabbo Flonzcraft stamp I chose from my lucky win over at <a href="http://frillyandfunkie.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Frillie and Funkie </a>(which btw becomes fillies and flunkies.if you don't keep an eye on that auto correct chaos causer !!!!) I just love this stamp I have sooooooo many ideas for this but as their challenge this week is "<a href="http://www.frillyandfunkie.blogspot.co.uk/2015/03/bring-on-bling.html" target="_blank">bring on the bling</a>" I just had to turn it into a tree that grows gem leaves... now wouldn't that solve some problems ;)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-B-S5c6wmXmU/VRH1HmiCL2I/AAAAAAAAA18/XN2qOURal0o/s1600/IMG_20150324_214927_hdr.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-B-S5c6wmXmU/VRH1HmiCL2I/AAAAAAAAA18/XN2qOURal0o/s1600/IMG_20150324_214927_hdr.jpg" height="181" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<ul>
<li><br /></li>
</ul>
<br />
The idea for the shaped cArd was from the <a href="http://onlinecardclasses.com/SYD/day-6-border-dies/" target="_blank">Stretch your dies online class</a>. This idea was by Debbie Hughes <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-nyeP_O32TOg/VRH01Ru3ROI/AAAAAAAAA10/igxL_iOofYI/s1600/IMG_20150324_214842_hdr.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-nyeP_O32TOg/VRH01Ru3ROI/AAAAAAAAA10/igxL_iOofYI/s1600/IMG_20150324_214842_hdr.jpg" height="226" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I used lots of mica boss to.hold the distress glitter on the sides, I used x cut border dies also covered in distress glitter to form the flowers at the bottoms. I stamped the gorgeous stamp twice and fussy cut some to the larger leaves which I then embossed and embossed and embossed which gave them a lovely rounded look. A final sprinkling of gems, a sentiment and voila. The Flonzcraft stamps are just absolutely awesome they give a really good finish and I can't wait to play with them again. The challenge is always have a really cool thing so definitely worth checking out<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pEYZuOX6ONo/VRH0kprVpOI/AAAAAAAAA1s/4nwtZv57srE/s1600/IMG_20150324_214802_hdr_kindlephoto-3301896.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pEYZuOX6ONo/VRH0kprVpOI/AAAAAAAAA1s/4nwtZv57srE/s1600/IMG_20150324_214802_hdr_kindlephoto-3301896.jpg" height="610" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I wrote this bit after the bit that follows... really if you are sane you should just mosey over to <a href="http://frillyandfunkie.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Frillie and Funkie</a> Right now … Still here , you really gonna carry on... I need you to remember Dr two things, I warned<br />
You, and I take lots of meds... oh and my kids will find this so funny and as I can't seem to copy to paste it elsewhere, and the FF deadline in about 4hours it following has to stay...<br />
I was sitting here and I was <span style="color: magenta;">struggling</span> with my silly old fingers hitting all the wrong keys when something popped up, after some faffin I realised it was my kindle writing what I say!!!! Now we have some teamwork to work on , and she really needs to get my accent but will get there and morphing the Sampha crafting. What the heck ... I am using the voicey thing and thought it was going really well, although I sound and feel like an eejit taking to a comp although morphing is Sampha could be fun... anyone tried it.. heard of it... I'm a little scared to Google it!!! Anyway the next bit was me getting all OMG thank you God what is this finger saver thingumy.<br />
=<br />
Oh my god I'm so excited I've just realised that I can talk to my Kindle and she will write what I'm saying it doesn't seem to be working again but she's back I am going to have to learn how to use this properly I think it being excited doesn't help that was me getting excited definitely worth looking into oh my god how much pain for save my fingers is just unbelievable that last sentence means I definitely need to go play with it more learn to talk slowly probably enough for dollar voice and I would usually you and what about, punctuation! Well it do that for me yes you can X exclamation exclamation you happy loll LOL you have to say! All you just have to you get exclamation I'll stop now va-t-en this is me trying to get it to do a paragraph<br />

<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2laCeBtBNWQ/VOyWdV1PsxI/AAAAAAAAA0w/YTVsuozzCGQ/s1600/IMG_20150221_181208_hdr_kindlephoto-138580445.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2laCeBtBNWQ/VOyWdV1PsxI/AAAAAAAAA0w/YTVsuozzCGQ/s1600/IMG_20150221_181208_hdr_kindlephoto-138580445.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
I started with these two clarity stamps and did the watercolour and white embossing first<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lr-982mMhTM/VOyWegKASFI/AAAAAAAAA04/ly7lvFfCBSc/s1600/IMG_20150221_181333_hdr_kindlephoto-138551681.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lr-982mMhTM/VOyWegKASFI/AAAAAAAAA04/ly7lvFfCBSc/s1600/IMG_20150221_181333_hdr_kindlephoto-138551681.jpg" height="318" width="320" /></a></div>
Then I tries to do a sunset kinda beachy vibe<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OEOGn5MEM6o/VOyWfxCCpAI/AAAAAAAAA1A/BrHrnpgt4H8/s1600/IMG_20150221_181411_hdr_kindlephoto-138509562.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OEOGn5MEM6o/VOyWfxCCpAI/AAAAAAAAA1A/BrHrnpgt4H8/s1600/IMG_20150221_181411_hdr_kindlephoto-138509562.jpg" height="285" width="320" /></a></div>
But this is my favourite, the paper is graphic 45 scraps of had leftover from a scrappy layout, I love these papers and really enjoyed <a href="http://stamplorations.blogspot.co.uk/2015/02/february-challenge-stamps-hearts.html" target="_blank">stamplorations</a> heart and stamps challenge<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I have seen lots of you crafties have been busy with valentines, will whisper that it is not really a hol I enjoy so I have been working on a scrapbook page, something I have never done before. I am so inspired by the work the <a href="http://lizzyhill12.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Lizzy Hill</a> does I really wanted to have a try. Lizzy did an awesome piece for <a href="http://kraftpluschallenges.blogspot.com.au/" target="_blank">Kraft+</a> and the culurs they have picked for their challenge are just luscious!!! I have just treated myself to the new rager dye inks, they come in the yummiest colours and were perfect for this challenge.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-61HkGmUZFAs/VN-KbKSLseI/AAAAAAAAAzk/S3rSabqP33E/s1600/IMG_20150214_155927_hdr_kindlephoto-1207019.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-61HkGmUZFAs/VN-KbKSLseI/AAAAAAAAAzk/S3rSabqP33E/s1600/IMG_20150214_155927_hdr_kindlephoto-1207019.jpg" height="357" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I also used paper from Happy days design stack by papermania, a chipboard piece by dusty attic and lots of buttons from... my button pot!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qafZFgCyefY/VN-K2lR25oI/AAAAAAAAAzs/GMs8ZdwLd0E/s1600/IMG_20150214_155851_hdr_kindlephoto-1284730.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qafZFgCyefY/VN-K2lR25oI/AAAAAAAAAzs/GMs8ZdwLd0E/s1600/IMG_20150214_155851_hdr_kindlephoto-1284730.jpg" height="279" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yHkcZnjfcpc/VN-K4Q3f0oI/AAAAAAAAAz0/Kq7Z8UughgI/s1600/IMG_20150214_155908_hdr.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yHkcZnjfcpc/VN-K4Q3f0oI/AAAAAAAAAz0/Kq7Z8UughgI/s1600/IMG_20150214_155908_hdr.jpg" height="226" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
My babies are now much bigger, the youngest is 13 and my eldest 18. Thankfully they pay little attention to what I waffle about on my blog as I am not sure they would apprectiate me sharing this photo... ah well, a little payback for all the times they looked and behaved far less angelic than they look in this pic ;)<br />
<br />
I havent done journalling before either but the Blessed piece inspired me to write words that evoke this time in our lives and the friends we shared this time with :)<br />
<br />
I loved making this and am working on another page already, I think I may have a new favourite thing to do... for now ;)Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12312114479061779334noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-299040080878009244.post-84254815843970528452015-02-13T16:16:00.000+00:002015-02-13T16:16:01.676+00:00Cased sera sera... I am so stoked to be writing this post, the beautiful and talented <a href="http://damselofdistressedcards.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Becca Cruger</a> asked me to be her Featured Friday girl and case one of my first pieces... am feeling so totally honoured... and a little bit terrified ;) <br />
<br />
The piece Becca selected to case is this one,<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yDrlqpsZqHQ/U5xdH1rg9dI/AAAAAAAAANE/g2iZ9V8t9Ik/s1600/CC3C%2B4%2Bfront%2Bon.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yDrlqpsZqHQ/U5xdH1rg9dI/AAAAAAAAANE/g2iZ9V8t9Ik/s1600/CC3C%2B4%2Bfront%2Bon.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And my new project...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-aw1YctJ98rI/VNuU1u6EYvI/AAAAAAAAAxw/hMvy0XMViv0/s1600/IMG_20150209_223852_hdr_kindlephoto-15188443.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-aw1YctJ98rI/VNuU1u6EYvI/AAAAAAAAAxw/hMvy0XMViv0/s1600/IMG_20150209_223852_hdr_kindlephoto-15188443.jpg" height="289" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I cant wait to see what Becca,<a href="http://damselofdistressedcards.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank"> Damsel of Disressinkyness</a> has created when she cased this!!!<br />
I really enjoyed reading Beccas other Featured Fridays and in particular the one letting us get to know <a href="http://damselofdistressedcards.blogspot.co.uk/2015/01/featured-friday-fantastic-darnell-knauss.html" target="_blank">Darnell</a>, she of all things NBUS, better. <br />
<br />
I loved the fact they asked questions of each other and that we got to know them both better through this post. I consider Becca a true bloggy friend, we met when we made the DT over at <a href="http://eclecticellapu.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Eclectic Ellapu</a> together, although she hasn't been blogging for long she has been creating since a little and is happy to share that knowledge with warmth, kindness... and always her special kind of humour. I wanted to get to know her better, I am nosy, and thought you would too and the lovely lady was kind enough to let us into her inky mind a little further ;)<br />
<br />
<div dir="ltr" style="font-size: 15px; line-height: 21.2999992370605px;">
<b style="color: #444444; line-height: 21.2999992370605px;"><span style="background-color: #c27ba0; font-family: inherit;">What part of the world am I from and what's it like here? </span></b><br />
<div style="background-color: white; color: #444444; line-height: 21.2999992370605px;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I am from that frigid, mystical land called North Dakota (USA). It is flat, barren, and all things brrrrrrr. Trees have long since fled and the local tourist attraction is "the hill" because there is exactly one. Why do I live here? Some would say because I like pain, but mostly it's because I'm crazy. I moved here 3 years ago for a job I adore. </span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #444444; line-height: 21.2999992370605px;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br style="line-height: 21.2999992370605px;" /></span></div>
<div style="color: #444444; line-height: 21.2999992370605px;">
<b style="line-height: 21.2999992370605px;"><span style="background-color: #c27ba0; font-family: inherit;">How do you decorate your home, does it reflect your crafting in any way?</span></b></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #444444; line-height: 21.2999992370605px;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I'd say so. My crafting is messy with lots of layers - much like my house! :) I haven't made any art for my house, although I did pick up my first canvases 2 months back and am trying to amp up the bravery to try my hand and mixed media collage. </span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #444444; line-height: 21.2999992370605px;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br style="line-height: 21.2999992370605px;" /></span></div>
<div style="color: #444444; line-height: 21.2999992370605px;">
<b style="line-height: 21.2999992370605px;"><span style="background-color: #c27ba0; font-family: inherit;">What hobbies do you enjoy outside of crafting?</span></b></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #444444; line-height: 21.2999992370605px;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">From the time I was 16, I've worked two jobs on purpose. It's only been recently that I quit the second and have started to do volunteering for my local battered women's shelter. Domestic violence awareness is something I'm very passionate about. I also love to read and am a very amateur poet/writer. </span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #444444; line-height: 21.2999992370605px;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br style="line-height: 21.2999992370605px;" /></span></div>
<div style="color: #444444; line-height: 21.2999992370605px;">
<b style="line-height: 21.2999992370605px;"><span style="background-color: #c27ba0; font-family: inherit;">What is my favourite film and book?</span></b></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #444444; line-height: 21.2999992370605px;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I'm a big kid at heart and I'd have to say my favorite film is Wall-E. If you haven't watched it we can't be friends. Beyond the adorableness of the title character, it is an homage to true cinematography. There are few words spoken, but so much genuine inflection. My favorite book is "Sense and Sensibility" by Jane Austen (I love her stuff!) I'm also currently reading an amazing science fiction book by Patrick Rothfuss called "Name of the Wind". </span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #444444; line-height: 21.2999992370605px;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br style="line-height: 21.2999992370605px;" /></span></div>
<div style="color: #444444; line-height: 21.2999992370605px;">
<b style="line-height: 21.2999992370605px;"><span style="background-color: #c27ba0; font-family: inherit;">What did you want to be when you were younger?</span></b></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #444444; line-height: 21.2999992370605px;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">A princess, duh! Actually, I wanted to be a famous writer. I do write quite a lot, mostly poetry as aforementioned. I have an English degree (because nobody talked me out of it - come on parents!) and worked as a magazine editor before moving to the frigid wasteland. </span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #444444; line-height: 21.2999992370605px;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br style="line-height: 21.2999992370605px;" /></span></div>
<div style="color: #444444; line-height: 21.2999992370605px;">
<b style="line-height: 21.2999992370605px;"><span style="background-color: #c27ba0; font-family: inherit;">What is my favourite dinner?</span></b></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #444444; line-height: 21.2999992370605px;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">We have a local restaurant called Blue Moose that makes this amazing baked mac and cheese. In general I hate mac and cheese, but that gets me every time. It is divine. </span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #444444; line-height: 21.2999992370605px;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br style="line-height: 21.2999992370605px;" /></span></div>
<div style="line-height: 21.2999992370605px;">
<b style="line-height: 21.2999992370605px;"><span style="background-color: #c27ba0; font-family: inherit;">Do I snack when I craft?</span></b></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #444444; line-height: 21.2999992370605px;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Never. My hands are so full of ink that I would have all sorts of colors in my mouth. I do drink... ahem... water of course. It sometimes leads to great ideas and other times leads to me cursing the day I decided to put a glass of... ahem... water... next to a pile of designer papers.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #444444; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #444444; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">
Lol, Becca always makes me laugh and I am grateful to her for sharing.... now on with the show ;)</div>

I made the original for my Dad, it is quite a personal piece for me as I wanted to embellish it with things that mean stuff to my Dad and I. When it came to casing this myself I again wanted to keep it personal, my children were the inspiration for me and I used clarity stamps "Wee Folks" to symbolise them.<br />

<br />
This is the first Canvas I have made and I wish I had started with one that I gessoed and then added colour too rather than trying to add colour from the beginning... I did find it quite tricky to get the blending that I achieved on the original card.<br />
<br />
That said I will most definitely try canvas again and am hugely grateful to Becca to making me feel so good about my creations :) If you haven't been to Becca's yet..get on over there and big thanks for hanging on in there with me til the very end x<br />
<br />
Take Care<br />
<br />
Tracey :)<br />
<br />
PS: I am scheduling this to try and post at the same time as Becca, now this meant I had to try work out the time difference across the pond (I am going with 2am saturday morning here is 8om there)... even with google I often mess this up, and then I have to use the schedule function properly Th first time I tried this I forgot to press publish and just saved it... Oh dear... fingers crossed that I wake up to a gold star!!!<br />
<br />
Pls.... I only went and got it wtong... Thanks Monica for your lovely comment and making me realize I messed up on the time difference ;)Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12312114479061779334noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-299040080878009244.post-80412480132103512252015-02-07T01:06:00.000+00:002015-02-07T01:06:52.270+00:00Shhhhh I should be sleeping!!!Just a quick share I like to do in support of <a href="http://retrosketches.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Retrosketche</a>s, I love the fun sketches they come up with for their challenges and am glad I have just met the deadline. I sat down at 10pm thinking I would just make a little something and oh dear that crafting daze jst took me away. I was playing with some new mca powders and have another 6 bits of.... well they are pretty but just bits... for now.<br />
<br />
I versamarked my little diamond stamp and matched it up to create a cute background. I then mixed some mica ino clear embossing and created 2 new colours. They are so soft and shimmery it was difficult to catch on camera<br />

However, the reality is that I have a desk and two Ikea bookcases in my Bedroom lol. Before this I crafted on the kitchen table, the living room table and floor, the kids were moaning at ME to tidy up so all in all I love my little space ;)<br />
<br />
One of the biggest problems I come across is taking pretty pics. Now most of this is down to the fact that I am no photographer lol but I have to clear my desk, try to balance paper as a back drop... a bit of a headache all around. So I fired up my crafty cranium and came up with this :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-K72DzY5yCpM/VNUOljfW4FI/AAAAAAAAAv0/aVvidDors9w/s1600/IMG_20150205_173947_hdr_kindlephoto-219121703.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-K72DzY5yCpM/VNUOljfW4FI/AAAAAAAAAv0/aVvidDors9w/s1600/IMG_20150205_173947_hdr_kindlephoto-219121703.jpg" height="332" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I hope you think it is pretty but you are probably wondering how on earth does this make photos snapping better...... well I flip</div>
<span id="goog_778166829"></span><span id="goog_778166830"></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-njhMqQZAe9s/VNUPBWcSN9I/AAAAAAAAAwA/9JD7EVLARyY/s1600/IMG_20150205_174010_hdr_kindlephoto-219092399.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-njhMqQZAe9s/VNUPBWcSN9I/AAAAAAAAAwA/9JD7EVLARyY/s1600/IMG_20150205_174010_hdr_kindlephoto-219092399.jpg" height="233" width="320" /></a></div>
revealing this... open the doors<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JEvvsPvzU9I/VNUPBUPDirI/AAAAAAAAAv8/sII8kXq-_cU/s1600/IMG_20150205_174056_hdr_kindlephoto-219046476.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JEvvsPvzU9I/VNUPBUPDirI/AAAAAAAAAv8/sII8kXq-_cU/s1600/IMG_20150205_174056_hdr_kindlephoto-219046476.jpg" height="269" width="320" /></a></div>
and voila... my own mini.. hmmm I dont know what to call it... card catwalk, craftabooth... answers on a postcard..<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ii802DgYBzI/VNUPCoYXduI/AAAAAAAAAwM/QX5F3J8xfdI/s1600/IMG_20150205_174214_hdr_kindlephoto-219022231.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ii802DgYBzI/VNUPCoYXduI/AAAAAAAAAwM/QX5F3J8xfdI/s1600/IMG_20150205_174214_hdr_kindlephoto-219022231.jpg" height="221" width="320" /></a></div>
Anyhoo, I can peg different colour card and paper as backdrops and get the light to kinda bounce off the white sides. I am ridiculously chuffed with myself lol<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WpPEijd_CeU/VNUP--JlVaI/AAAAAAAAAwY/iEh0_eWesO8/s1600/IMG_20150205_174352_hdr_kindlephoto-218945627.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WpPEijd_CeU/VNUP--JlVaI/AAAAAAAAAwY/iEh0_eWesO8/s1600/IMG_20150205_174352_hdr_kindlephoto-218945627.jpg" height="320" width="210" /></a></div>
Now I can snap my cards and stuff and not show all the gubbins hiding behind ;)<br />
<br />
i added some ribbon to the back so I can also pin or droop bits over this if I wanted... gee I just liked the ribbon and couldn't stop decorating lol<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hiSOqzeFMl4/VNUQfwwUYyI/AAAAAAAAAwg/dLO4QWQi8Ac/s1600/IMG_20150205_174025_hdr_kindlephoto-219060655.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hiSOqzeFMl4/VNUQfwwUYyI/AAAAAAAAAwg/dLO4QWQi8Ac/s1600/IMG_20150205_174025_hdr_kindlephoto-219060655.jpg" height="255" width="320" /></a></div>
I used almost the last of my fav ever pad, it is by Colorbok and is called Homespun, I have tried so hard to get hold of some more but it is proving UK elusive... if any of you lovely peeps know where I could find it I would be soooo grateful. <br />
<br />
I am sharing this with <a href="http://alteredeclectics.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Altered Eclectics</a> sister site for My lovely Eclectic Ellapu and also run by the awesome Elaine. <br />
I loved this technique taught by Kristina.<br />

I do hope you will be joining in again with our challenge for February. We are going burgundy/red and cream, aren't we thoughtful with "that" day just around the corner ;)<br />
<br />
I love iris folding so thought I would play with this idea, I also just saw a technique where you ink your embossing folder and had to have a play!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-kevABizt7J8/VM0W0EiXmiI/AAAAAAAAAss/g9YRcGm5P_w/s1600/IMG_20141227_194901_hdr_kindlephoto-131058321.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-kevABizt7J8/VM0W0EiXmiI/AAAAAAAAAss/g9YRcGm5P_w/s1600/IMG_20141227_194901_hdr_kindlephoto-131058321.jpg" height="320" width="263" /></a></div>
I used a cogs embossing folder that had been sitting around for a little while feeling lonely, I totally loved the effect.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-b6-gmdUfVjc/VM0W3VIZOKI/AAAAAAAAAs0/QqekutSITh0/s1600/IMG_20141227_194455_hdr_kindlephoto-118864926.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-b6-gmdUfVjc/VM0W3VIZOKI/AAAAAAAAAs0/QqekutSITh0/s1600/IMG_20141227_194455_hdr_kindlephoto-118864926.jpg" height="320" width="280" /></a></div>
I die cut a large heart in the centre and go into my iris folding groove, I find using my paper trimmer to score the paper at intervals and then go back and chop them off saves me a lot of time and gets lovely crisp folds.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-13kZTNLwAic/VM0W8c_JSWI/AAAAAAAAAs8/0Z9yGJb0BXw/s1600/IMG_20141227_194554_hdr_kindlephoto-131202772.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-13kZTNLwAic/VM0W8c_JSWI/AAAAAAAAAs8/0Z9yGJb0BXw/s1600/IMG_20141227_194554_hdr_kindlephoto-131202772.jpg" height="181" width="320" /></a></div>
I layered and layered embossing powder in this little heart and then bent it so it cracked in places... in hind sight perhaps not a totally good idea for a "that day" card ;)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ki_sZZEVksk/VM0W-soYeNI/AAAAAAAAAtE/aBroCMChQio/s1600/IMG_20141227_194537_hdr_kindlephoto-131240957.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ki_sZZEVksk/VM0W-soYeNI/AAAAAAAAAtE/aBroCMChQio/s1600/IMG_20141227_194537_hdr_kindlephoto-131240957.jpg" height="255" width="320" /></a></div>
<span id="goog_1521461898"></span><span id="goog_1521461899"></span>I thought these little hearts created some good dimension.<br />
<br />
Now, my kids all laughed and said "Mum you cant have your card say that" but I likes it as it made me laugh, so there ;)<br />
<br />
Well thanks for looking, please do come and join in over at <a href="http://eclecticellapu.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Eclectic Ellapu's</a><br />

I have had the lovely classes to keep me thinking although to be honest I really haven't felt much like playing, sleep just seems oh soooooo appealing.<br />
<br />
I did have a go, over several days, of playing with masking and embossing as demoed by Jennifer. Oh I got in a right mess!!!!<br />

I do love this technique and will try it again, things I learned:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
start with the lightest colour powder;</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Washy tape is not a good alternative;</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
wait for your stamping to dry and </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
soft tissues really do make a difference.... atchoo!!</div>
